Swiss Investments Deliver Life-Saving Impact in Tanzania
During their visit to Tanzania, Swiss parliamentarians saw how care is provided to vulnerable newborns and witnessed firsthand how Swiss global health investments are translating into life-saving improvements on the ground
In Tanzania, Swiss parliamentarians visited St. Francis Referral Hospital and saw how the “A Good Start II” project by SolidarMed is addressing one of the country’s most urgent health challenges: preventable newborn deaths. Here they were welcomed by the local team and toured the neonatal intensive care unit and the renovated labour ward, now better equipped to support mothers and babies at birth.
Seeing the work on the ground showed how Swiss global health investments are being put into practice in a very concrete way. Such targeted support is essential and is already making a real difference in improving care and outcomes for newborns, strengthening care where it matters most—at the very start of life.
